reiki level 1 Training in Calgary
In-Person Classes offered monthly
Learn Reiki. Practice it. Feel Confident in what you're doing.
You don’t need to arrive knowing anything about Reiki.
There are no prerequisites here. You don’t need to be intuitive enough, spiritual enough or even confident enough.
You simply need to be curious and open to learning something new.
Reiki Level 1 is a small, experiential 2-day class designed to give you a strong foundation in Reiki, plenty of opportunity to practice, practical resources to take home, and somewhere to come back when the class is over.
In this space all questions are welcome.
Not knowing is welcome.
Emotion is welcome.
You may pass when you do not want to share.
You don’t have to receive touch to practice Reiki.
You don’t have to learn the same way as the person beside you.
And you certainly don’t have to perform.
Everyone walks into my classroom as a learner.
That is intentional.
For more than 25 years as an educator, I’ve cared deeply about creating a learning environment where questions are welcome, imperfect practice is part of the process, and every person is encouraged to practice, explore and grow in their own way.
Start where you are. We work from there.
two days. one foundation.

day 1
8:30-5:30 pm
We’ll begin with what Reiki is, its history and the five principles, grounding, hand positions, ethics, consent, self-Reiki and the flow of a Reiki session.
You'll learn about the chakras, what they represent and how to work with them during Reiki.
You’ll discover how to use crystals and essential oils within your chakra and Reiki practice. You’ll receive your own chakra crystal set and begin working with it in class.
You’ll receive your Level 1 Reiki attunement. This is the foundation that connects you to Reiki and allows you to begin working with Reiki energy yourself.
You’ll practice the hand positions with a self-reiki session and also experience a guided meditation.
You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions as they arise, and begin experiencing what Reiki feels like for you.
Day 2
8:30-5:30 pm
Day 2 is a full day of guided, hands-on Reiki practice.
You’ll spend this day putting everything you learned on Day 1 into practice.
You’ll give and receive Reiki with different partners to build confidence through repetition and experience.
You’ll work through the hand positions and chakras, use crystals and essential oils, and move through complete Reiki sessions from beginning to end.
I’ll be there to answer questions as they come up, help you work through anything you’re unsure about, and you’ll have the opportunity to experience Reiki from both sides of the table.
We’ll close the day by discovering what a Reiki Share is and experiencing one together as a group, giving you another way to experience Reiki.
WHAT YOU’LL LEAVE WITH
By the end of the two-day training, you won’t be expected to have everything memorized.
You will leave with a strong foundation, real hands-on experience, practical resources to support you, and a clear understanding of how to keep building your confidence.
You’ll leave knowing how to:
Ground yourself before practicing Reiki
Clear, protect and prepare a comfortable Reiki space
Ask for consent, and support the comfort of the person receiving Reiki
Give Reiki to yourself and others
Work through Reiki hand positions with confidence
Understand the chakra system and how to work with and support the chakras
Use crystals and essential oils within your chakra and Reiki practice
Move through a complete Reiki session from beginning to end
Close a session and reset your space afterward
Experience Reiki from both sides of the table by giving and receiving Reiki
Use your course materials as a reference as you continue practicing
You’ll also leave with your in-depth Reiki Level 1 manual, personal journal, chakra reference materials, your own chakra crystal set to support your continued practice, and your Reiki Level 1 Certificate.
My intention is that you leave the weekend feeling ready to use what you’ve learned and say to yourself:
“I know how to use Reiki for myself and make it part of my everyday life.”
“I know how to share Reiki with another person in a way that feels comfortable, respectful and clear for both of us.”
“I know how to get myself grounded, clear, protect and create a comfortable space and let a Reiki session unfold without second-guessing myself.”
“I know how to keep practicing, where to look when I forget something and where to turn when new questions come up.”
You have somewhere to come back to
Your relationship with Reiki does not end when the class does.
Confidence comes from using what you’ve learned.
Students are welcome to join us for the free monthly Reiki Shares, where Reiki-attuned practitioners come together to practice, receive Reiki, ask questions, learn from one another and continue building confidence.
Quick follow-up questions after class are always welcome.
When something needs a deeper conversation, individual review or more personalized support, Reiki mentoring is available as well.
You don’t have to figure everything out alone.
In Their Own Words
“The experience I have had in the last few days has been indescribable. The vulnerability, openness, trust, energy and connection is so powerful. It’s a completely judgement free space, I feel so comfortable, safe and able to be. I’ve experienced such a change and transition. It has changed me forever. I finally feel I have so much love and gratitude for ME. Thank you.”
— cassie m, calgary, AB
“I came in to support my wife, and was slightly skeptical when we started. After the first day, my skepticism was replaced by a desire to learn more and travel deeper. I physically experienced how powerful this can be, and I believe.”
— Rob O, Didsbury, AB
“One of the best experiences of my life. I felt things I cannot explain, and I truly feel a sense of hope, amazement and harmony leaving here. I am forever changed and have a new approach to life”
— Kylee M, Sylvan Lake, AB
Your Questions, Answered
-
No. You can arrive completely new to Reiki. You don’t need to know the terminology, hand positions, history, chakras or anything else before you come. We start at the beginning and build from there.
If you have taken Reiki previously and still don’t feel confident using what you learned, you are welcome too.
-
Your Reiki Level 1 training takes place in my home studio in southeast Calgary.
To protect personal privacy, the exact street address and parking instructions will be emailed to you once your registration is confirmed.
-
You’ll do both.
Day 1 gives you the foundation, your Level 1 attunement and your first opportunity to practice Reiki on yourself.
Day 2 is a full day of hands-on practice. You’ll give and receive Reiki with different partners, move through complete sessions and have me there to answer questions as they come up.
-
Absolutely not. There is no pop quiz or final exam here.
You are learning a new practice. You will leave with a manual, handouts and reference tools so you know where to find the information you need while your confidence and familiarity grow through practice.
-
You can learn Reiki entirely for yourself.
Some people use Reiki as part of their own personal practice or with friends and family. Others eventually choose to work with clients or continue their Reiki training.
There is no expectation that you turn Reiki into a business. You get to decide what role Reiki has in your life.
-
Yes. Follow-up questions are always welcome.
You’re also invited to attend the free monthly Reiki Shares, where Reiki-attuned practitioners come together to practice, receive Reiki, ask questions and continue learning.
If you need deeper, individualized support, Reiki mentoring is available too.
-
You are welcome here.
Some students come to Reiki in the Rockies because they have already completed Reiki training somewhere else and still feel uncertain about hand positions, session flow or simply trusting themselves.
You don’t have to pretend you know more than you do. We start where you are.
-
No. Reiki can be practiced with no touch.
Consent and personal boundaries are part of the training, and you are always welcome to communicate what feels comfortable for you.
-
No. I do not teach Reiki practitioners to see themselves as healers.
In the Usui Reiki tradition I teach, the practitioner is a channel or conduit for Reiki energy. You are not the one doing the healing. Reiki is.
Your role is to practice Reiki with clear intention, create a comfortable and supportive space and allow the person receiving Reiki to have their own experience.
-
Of course!
Floki is part of Reiki in the Rockies as my CFO (Chief Furry Officer) and Energy Director. He attends all trainings, shares, classes and sessions.
