Hi, I’m Andrea Thatcher
Reiki has been part of my life since 2007. As an Usui Reiki Master/Teacher, I’ve taught it, practiced it, shared it and watched people discover what can happen when they become quiet enough to listen to themselves again.
Teaching has been part of who I am for even longer. I spent more than 25 years in the fitness and wellness industry as an educator, author, speaker and coach, and I’ve been teaching Reiki since 2008. I’ve worked with people in classrooms, workshops, conferences, retreats, online groups and one-on-one coaching, and through all of it I’ve learned that people don’t need more information thrown at them. They need things explained clearly, space to ask questions and enough support to figure out what actually works for them.
I am a woman who believes deeply in personal responsibility, intuition and helping others get out of their own way. I hold space. I teach. I allow. I support. I listen. I create the environment where others can reconnect with their own capacity for growth and healing.
I’m curious. I ask questions. I want to understand why something works, what it means and whether it actually makes sense in real life. I’m not especially interested in doing something a certain way simply because that’s the way it has always been done.
That has shaped the way I practice Reiki and the way I teach it.
I believe Reiki can be deeply meaningful without being made complicated, intimidating or overly mysterious. I want people to feel comfortable enough to explore it, question it, experience it for themselves and decide what place it has in their own lives.
That’s why my philosophy is simple: Start where you are.
Why Reiki in the Rockies exists
I created Reiki in the Rockies because experiencing Reiki should be welcoming, and learning Reiki should not end with a certificate and a manual placed on a shelf. People deserve somewhere to return with the questions that only appear once they begin practicing in real life.
My role is not to hand you all the answers or ask you to copy the way I practice. It is to make the learning understandable, give you meaningful practice, welcome honest questions and help you develop confidence in your own experience.
That is what I want this to be. A place to receive Reiki, learn it, practice it and continue growing, with grounded guidance, genuine community and support when you need it.
my VISION
To help create a world where Reiki is understood as an accessible, grounded practice that people can confidently bring into their lives, their personal growth, and the way they care for themselves and others.
my MISSION
Reiki in the Rockies helps people receive Reiki, learn Reiki and share Reiki through welcoming sessions, practical hands-on training, ongoing mentoring, community Reiki Shares and meaningful experiences that help people build grounded confidence in themselves and their own practice.
my WHY
I believe Reiki should feel welcoming and accessible, not intimidating or overly complicated. Whether someone is experiencing Reiki for the first time or has already completed training, they deserve a place where they can ask questions, practice, keep learning and grow without judgment. That means meeting people where they are, helping them understand what they’re doing and why, and giving them the support to take the next step when they’re ready.
Start where you are.
THE VALUES THAT SHAPE HOW I WORK
These values have guided my work for years, and they continue to shape how I live, work, teach, support and build relationships with the people who come into this community.
